Hey, everyone Ricky Chu here from Chu’s Packaging Supplies. Today, I’m going to teach you how to use a tape gun dispenser. If you think about it, nobody’s ever taught us how to use a tape gun, because it should be that simple. It doesn’t come with instructions or anything, but like anything else, if you use it wrong, it’s not going to be effective.
One major factor is what tape do you use. Last time, we talked about the difference between acrylic and hot melt tapes. So the way they release will also affect how the tape gun works over here on the tape gun, there is actually a knob that you turn to adjust the tension. So if you remember from last time hot melt has an easier release.
So you want to tighten that tension up a little bit on this acrylic tape, because it has a harder release. You want to loosen that tension up. Once you get that dialed in, you’ll be able to quickly and securely seal your boxes.
And because these are pressure sensitive tapes. You want to give a one good swipe on top. Make sure the bond with the box and adhesive is strong and you have a good box ready to ship.
