We specialize in Custom Printed Tape and we’re here to help you discover which one is right for your project or your business.
In short, here are the differences –
Lock Custom Printed Tape:
In this method, we print between the film and the adhesive.
You will need to order a higher minimum quantity.
The lead time is longer but the pricing is lower.
Surface Custom Printed Tape:
In this method, we print on the surface of the tape.
The tape is able to absorb the ink properly.
However, it is more costly.
The advantages are that you’ll be able to order a lower minimum quantity and have a faster turnaround time.

Hey everyone. Ricky Chu from Chu’s Packaging Supplies here. And today we’re going to talk about different types of custom printed tape. The two main types of custom printed tape we do at Chu’s Packaging Supplies are locked print and surface print, and I’m going to show you the difference between the two. Like everything else,
there’s pros and cons to each style of print. Surface print, like the name means that we print on the surface of the tape. The tape is treated and it absorbs the ink properly. It is slightly more costly, but it allows us to run lower minimum quantities, and give you a faster turnaround time. Lock print essentially means that we locked the print between the film and the adhesive. Because of this process, you have to order a higher minimum quantity because we print it off a big jumbo roll.
And the lead time is a bit longer, but the pricing is lower. So which one should you go with? You really have to decide based on your budget, the volume you can use and your expected delivery time. If you have more questions about it, we’ll be happy to accommodate and provide you more information that helps you make a decision.
